Market Price

The market price is the price of 1 Investor (Type B) share in a FairShares Company that has listed some of its Investor Shares on a stock exchange.

There is no equivalent concept in a FairShares Co-operative.

The market price was introduced in FairShares V3.1 for Investor (Type B) shares listed on an exchange. The price of listed shares is set by the exchange on which the shares are listed, and not a process internal to the company. Unlisted shares are set using the process to establish a Fair Price, based on current assets and expected surpluses from trading activities in future years.
